With the demise of the “Real Gone Cats” from the rock & roll scene guitarist Ray Brooks & bass player Ron Bissett turned to each other & said “well what now?” hence the birth of the “Switchblades.”

With the inclusion of Ian Mills ex “Booze Bros” singer & Bob Pontello to complete the lineup the band had to decide what music to include in their repertoire. With that in mind an exhaustive survey was undertaken at various Sydney rock & Roll venues to study just what music filled the dance floor?

The outcome of this homework has seen the development of arguably the most dynamic rock & roll performances seen on the fifties circuit for a long time. Musical styles include forties swing, fifties rock & roll, rockabilly, western swing, boogie & some reworked classic ballads.

The Switchblades musicians boast an impressive pedigree working in acts such as: On The Prowl, O’l 55, Booze Bros, Aust Fleetwood Mac Show, Beatnix, Aust Blues Bros Show, Tezza & the Twistops, Real Gone Cats and many more.

The guys have also worked on the support bill to international artists such as: Martha Davis & The Motels, ZZ Top, Canned Heat, Del Shannon, Midnight Oil, Matt Finish, Split Enz etc.
